The suggestion to try a game called “Dofus” arrived in my inbox after exclaiming how bored I was.

What the heck is Dofus?
A quick click on the link took me to a page where quite honestly, my first reaction was a snarky smirk and a little scoff. Needless to say I have not held a fascination with online games, nor have I had the attention span to successfully delve into this popular pastime.
I was intrigued by the seemingly odd pairing of a game and a cartoon. With a half piqued interest, I signed up. The painless process directed me to pick a character class, those which have such varied specificities that it took a bit of additional research to understand exactly what I was choosing. However being a girl, I was tempted to pick something cute, damn that gender influence. After much deliberation and reading, I selected the Eniripsa class. Humor struck me when I realized that these guys are the “healers” within the game, and as I have noticed within Dofus, there was a sense of humor behind their name. Eniripsa, is aspirine backwards, the French spelling for aspirin, the pain reliever. The humor was not lost on me, and as I go through the worlds of Dofus, so many glaringly amusing jokes come to light. This is just one of the many reasons Dofus has endeared itself so strongly to me.

We have redesigned the way auto casting combat spells works so that it no longer requires a magic staff. Now, you can set a spell to auto cast via the redesigned Magic Spell book interface. This change is designed to make auto casting spells easier and more intuitive. A summary of the changes is as follows: Auto casting no longer requires a magic staff. Auto casting is now controlled via your spell book. To set a spell to auto cast, simply select the Auto cast option from the spell icon in your spell book. You can still single-cast spells by selecting the Cast option from the spell icon in the spell book. In the standard spell book, Auto cast is now the default option for combat spells, with Cast as the alternate option.
In the Ancient Magic’s spell book, Cast remains the default option, with Auto cast as the alternate option. As with before, there are no spells in the lunar spell book that can be set to auto cast. You can still choose whether to receive Defense XP or not when auto casting spells via the new toggle button in the bottom-left corner of your spell book. You can now also receive Defense XP for single-casting spells that deal damage, if you have this option toggled on.
Four buttons have been added to the bottom of the Magic Spell book interface that allows you to filter what spell icons are visible. Click on these buttons to toggle the visibility of combat, teleport, skill-based and miscellaneous spells. As staves are no longer required for auto casting, we have granted some of the more special ones the ability to cause 10% more magic damage. The following staves receive this bonus:
